لم يثر توقيع فرنسا على العديد من عقود بيع الأسلحة للإمارات العربية المتحدة الكثير من ردود الفعل. لكن تقريرا صادرا عن الفدرالية الدولية لحقوق الإنسان ومرصد التسلح يقدم قائمة طويلة عن انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان التي يقترفها هذا “الحليف”. ويشير محررو هذا التقرير إلى احتمال تواطؤ السلطات الفرنسية.

ينشر عالم الأنثروبولوجيا عبد المجيد حنوم تحقيقًا تاريخيًا مشوقا حول أصل كلمة “المغرب الكبير”(Maghreb بالفرنسية) التي قام منظرو الاستعمار الفرنسي بتطويرها بصفة واسعة. ساهم هذا المصطلح -الذي يدرسه الكاتب من خلال الأرشيف وعلى الخصوص محفوظات “المكاتب العربية” التابعة للجيش الاستعماري الفرنسي- في عزل المنطقة عن بقية القارة الأفريقية وكذلك عن الشرق الأوسط.
